We’ve been yearning to see more hybrid fixtures of T5 and LED lighting and we were quite surprised to find ourselves smitten with a light from an unlikely player, Qian Hu Corporation. Qian Hu’s recently unveiledRevoReef line of marine aquarium productsalso includes the RevoReef Inifinity All in One aquarium series which is outfitted with a very nice lighting fixture.
The RevoReef Inifinity LED + T5 light fixture includes three channels of LEDs, as well as two high output T5 lamps for more customizability as well as filling gaps in the light field and spectrum. The three LED channels include one channel with tight secondary lenses for deep penetration, one with a wide angle lens for the bright multichip LEDs, and one with no lenses for broad filler lighting.

But what matters most is that the light this fixture produces looks absolutely amazing, with popping colors and a nice broad and uniform light field that fills in every corner of the aquarium and none of the hard shadows that come from having only tight narrow angle lenses.
The hanging/mounting solution for the RevoReef aquarium light is also quite straightforward with two mounting arms that can slide up and down quite a distance, and rails in each arm to move the light forwards and backwards.When we visited their stand at Aquarama the representatives from Qian Hu said the company was unsure about whether the RevoReef light would be made available separately.
Despite not havinganydimming or controlling features, the separate power channels and well selected lighting components makes for a great light that we think will grow and make corals look really great. It’s quite interesting that Qian Hu designed their LED + T5 light primarily to be used with the RevoReef Infinity aquarium series but they inadvertently created a really good and useful light that could fill in a much needed gap in the general reef aquarium lighting market.
