Some types of reef tanks require a regular maintenance schedule with careful attention to details, dosing, chemistry and plenty of cleaning of the glass, skimmer, detritus removal and water changes. Other setups like our Red Sea nano reef tank are diametrically opposite of the needy saltwater aquarium systems that most people are familiar with.
这是比一个典型的珊瑚礁t无论是好还是坏ank but the Reef Builders nano definitely broke the mold by being set up in one day, going a year without a water change, foregoing dosing or water testing and a lot of the usual bells and whistles that are often associated with a ‘full blown’ reef aquarium setup. We’re still dealing with some of the usual challenges such as Aiptasia and Valonia that creeps up and down in abundance and the tank is populated mostly with common and hardy corals that don’t require as much light so the bar is set pretty low.
Nevertheless, considering how little effort we’ve put into it we’re really proud of how this tank is turning out at over two years old. Even when there’s not muchchangehappening in the one-day nano reef we still find interesting topics to discuss about it and for our latest video we showcase the tank under blue light spectrum while answering many of your most frequently asked questions.
