Usually when I salivate at a fancy coral it’s a strain, colony or species that I want to put in my own reef tank. But this ‘Blueberry Shortcake’ Acropora nasuta is one that I get to enjoy at home and it’s only been getting nicer and healthier with every passing day.
一个cropora nasuta is one of the very first species of Acros that I learned to identify, helped in part by its very distinctive appearance. It has very ‘normal’ branches’ and a typical Acro colony shape but its corallites are very exert and pronounced, and the polyps are very often bright blue.
I first shared this gorgeous plum-purple colored Acro with you guys a couple months ago whenCorals Down Underfirst tipped me off to it. It lost a little bit of coloration in transit but is since bouncing back, looking better than ever and definitely on its way to becoming a stunning aquarium coral.
一个s soon as it grows a little bit more I’ll be sure to take a couple frags and share the blueberryshortcake nasutaaround so that many more reefers can also enjoy it. In the meantime if you’re an SPS addict like me definitely be on the lookout for exciting tricolored一个croporafrom Australia because there’s still many more coral strains yet to be revealed from the land down under.
