The Kessil A80 LED is a new light which will break from the form factor that Kessil has perfected over the last few years. Instead of being a can-shaped LED spotlight with a built-in fan, the Kessil A80 is more of a disc-shape and completely fanless.
As the name implies, the Kessil A80 is expected to be about half the power of the Kessil A150/A160, with a similar combination of a common lens over the multichipDense MatrixLED, supported by a reflector. Furthermore, the A80 will function similarly in terms of control with the same color and intensity adjustment dials, and a 1-10v input and output.
The shallow design of the Kessil A80 LED is quite attractive, with an all metal construction which is transected by vents to allow air flow to help dissipate the heat from this passively cooled LED light. The smaller size and weight of the Kessil A80 should afford Kessil some smaller and more discreet mounting options that are more amenable to small reef tanks.
It’s quite interesting that after years of making its mark on ‘regular sized’ reef tanks with its A160 and A360 LED spotlights, Kessil is fleshing out its lighting range at both ends of the size spectrum. TheKessil A2000今年早些时候为巨型坦克和公共水族馆而被取笑,现在我们有Kessil A80期待着照亮小型坦克。
We’re expecting official word from Kessil about this new light any day now and if nothing else, it should be on prominent display at the Kessil booth at MACNA 2016 in San Diego next week.
