Seachem released two new products, Seachem PhosBond and Seachem PhosNet, to help rid your system of phosphates and silicates. The trusty go-to granular ferric oxide (GFO) gets a boost in both of these products with PhosBond combining GFO with aluminum oxide and PhosNet taking regular GFO up a notch with high porosity, high surface area and high binding capacity.
PhosBond takes the best of both worlds with both aluminum oxide and granular ferric oxide (GFO) into a singular material with a synergistic effect to rapidly remove phosphates and silicates from both saltwater and freshwater. According to the Seachem, “Its high porosity and surface area give it a large binding capacity, while its physical strength and integrity assures that it will not break down from mechanical stress.” PhosBond is not an exchange resin and will not leach phosphate or silicate back into the water. In fact, it can be removed, dried, and returned to service until exhausted.
