DeJong Marinelifehas just teased the world with a sneaker picture of a tiny little tiger angelfish, thegem of a rare angelfishthat only comes from South Africa. We’ve learned that this particular tyke of anApolemichthys kingiwas collected near Durban, South Africa and despite its slightly frayed appearance the juvenile is eating great and well on its way to becoming a nice display specimen, and displayed it will be.
We have somewhat of alove affair withApolemichthys kingihaving seen them in their natural habitat while diving in Aliwal Shoals and making a special trek to Pretoria to visit the other juvenile tiger angelfish that wascollected by Pieter Uys early last year. While we’ve already checked offApolemichthys kingifrom our own checklist of rare fish to see in real life, not too many others have but visitors to InterZoo will get the chance later this month at InterZoo.
DeJong Marinelife will be conditioning their juvenile tiger angelfish for the next few weeks and displaying it at their InterZoo booth. In addition to the tiger angel we know DeJong is working to build some really nice livestock, reef life and reef tank displays for this year’s mega pet and aquarium conference so if you find yourself in Nuremberg from May 28th to the 31st, be sure to check out this extremely rare marine fish at the DeJong Marinelife booth.
