The yellowline goby,Elacatinus figaro, is a Brazilian endemic reef fish which is a strong candidate for the merits of captive breeding the fish we love. Several years back you could get the yellowline goby all day and all night from Brazilian fish exporters but then Brazil put the lock-down on all endemic marine fish species. Thankfully, by the time exports ofElacatinus figarohad ceased,ORAhad already built up some broodstock of the yellowline goby which is relatively easy to rear. ORA has released some yellowline gobies to the trade before, but this week the yellowline goby that was once plentiful from the wild will be available to ORA customers the only way that is legal to obtain them:captive bred.
