Rarity aside, it would be hard to pick between either the amazing blueface Clarion angelfish above, or the double rainbow passer angelfish below. Both stunningHolacanthusspecimens were recently caught by Cortez Marine. The odd blueface clarion was captured at a depth of 70 feet, near a grouping of garibaldi damselfish. Cortez marine wrote of the double rainbow passer angelfish that it was one of the nicest they’d ever seen. The yellow tail, blue flank, white pelvics and stunning red and yellow fins are more than enough to qualify as a full rainbow, all the way. A double rainbow passer angelfish with colors so intense, but what does it mean? It’s almost,a triple rainbow!Woah.
Is it a coincidence that we’re only a month off from last year’s capture ofaberrant passer angelfish? Perhaps these two stunning angelfish specimens are the result of very mature adults, and a seasonal variation in sexual activity, and therefore nuptial coloration, if there is such a thing with passers and clarion angelfish.
