OK so first of all, Australia Day was Monday but since we never got around to featuring an Australian coral, it’s better to post late than never. When the Aussie lords first started coming in it was inconceivable that any coral could challenge this Lord’s dominance for brilliance and fascination. The specimen in the wallpaper image above is one of only two orange Wilsonis we have ever seen (or heard of) and funny enough, the coral above is tankmates with the other orange Wilsoni. Because of the meandering corallites and the lack of a “dotted line” that screams “Frag Here”, the propagation of this species has been hit or miss and it is not ever likely to take off the wayAcanthastrea lordhowensishas. Besides, the show colonies ofS. wilsonihave been few and far between and I wouldn’t exactly be too GungHo to hack up one of these beauties.
